ECUADOR and VENEZUELA performs bilateral video conferences to manage trade agreements

 (Caracas, 12-09- 2016) .- Representatives Organizations of the health & food industry of Ecuador and Venezuela established trade agreements, for the relaunching of the Unitary System of Regional Compensation, SUCRE; through a meeting held in the I and II bilateral videoconference, held on 2nd and 9th of September this year.

 

In the context of settled decisions in the minutes of the XL Regional Monetary Council of Sucre’s Board meeting held on Friday, July 29th, 2016, in Caracas – Venezuela, they agreed to implement a bilateral videoconferences program between States Parties of the SUCRE with the aim of promoting the balance of commercial trades through the promotion of relations between the competent organizations of its member countries.

 

In that sense, were raised several macro-objectives which would input an agenda to these meetings, such as: 1. Channeling bilateral trade through the SUCRE, 2. Strengthen inter-institutional relationship with the competent bodies of each State Party, in order to reduce possible interference existing. 3. Reduce asymmetries and promote the balance of commercial trade and 4. Internationally promotion of the SUCRE system.

 

It is important to note that these bilateral meetings brought up positive results, aiming to comply with the stated objectives. Both countries agreed, among other things, exchange the detailed listings of supply and demand of products for possible trade through the SUCRE and conform a high-level group of the competent authorities of both countries for the production and sectoral chain.

 

Bolivia, Ecuador, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela, countries members of the SUCRE will be holding bilateral meetings, in the form of video conferences over the coming months of 2016.
